Lot 595: A Collection of Decorative Glass and Ceramic Objects Including a Cut-Glass Biscuit Barrel and Oriental Style Wares
An assortment of decorative objects and ceramics featuring a large cut-glass lidded biscuit barrel with a starburst pattern to the lid and base, and deep geometric faceting to the body. The collection includes a pair of Japanese chopsticks presented in a black card box with a gold-toned insert, featuring a paper band inscribed with the characters 和技 and the word WAZA. Also present is a tall stoneware vase of bulbous form with a textured grey and blue finish, accented by a deep blue glass spiral coil applied to the neck. A shallow ceramic dish with a grey-blue glaze displays a raised abstract design of wavy lines. The lot further comprises small oriental-style ceramics: a black-glazed vase with a circular gilt-framed panel depicting a peacock and floral spray; a cobalt blue lidded ginger jar with gilt peacock and floral decoration; a small cobalt blue baluster vase with red and yellow floral motifs; and blue and white porcelain items including a cruet jug and a small cup and saucer set with windmill and foliate designs.
