Lot 646: A Group of US Army and Marine Corps Field Equipment and Insignia
This lot comprises an assortment of United States military field gear, uniform components, and insignia, largely dating from the Vietnam War through to the late Cold War era. The collection features a standard-issue 1-quart plastic canteen with a nested metal canteen cup and a metal canteen stove or stand, housed within a green nylon carrier fitted with ALICE clips. Also included is a metal helmet mounting bracket for Night Vision Goggles (NVG), intended for use with PVS-7 or PVS-14 systems; the mount remains in its original plastic packaging inside a cardboard box.
The textile components include an olive green (OG) utility fatigue shirt and a heavy olive-drab wool blanket. The insignia collection consists of several shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) and rank patches, including a 1st Ranger Battalion scroll and matching Ranger tab, a US Strategic Communications Command (STRATCOM) shield, two US Third Army patches, and a US VII Corps patch. Additionally, there are US Marine Corps sergeant rank chevrons in red on a dark blue background and a blue and gold horizontal bar insignia. A white paper envelope with the handwritten numeral 9863 is also present.
