Lot 683: British Ceramic Mantel Clock New Pillar Model
A British ceramic mantel clock of the New Pillar model. The case is constructed from glazed earthenware with a cream-coloured body, featuring a central decorative panel with transfer-printed and hand-tinted floral motifs depicting pink and yellow roses. The architectural form includes four fluted columns with Corinthian-style capitals, set against a background of reddish-brown glaze and highlighted with gilt scrollwork. The circular dial is enclosed within a metal bezel and features black Arabic numerals with blue-toned metal hands. The reverse of the clock reveals a mechanical spring-driven movement with winding and regulator arbors. The underside of the case is incised with the marks MADE IN ENGLAND, RD APPLIED FOR, and NEW PILLAR.
