Lot 695: A Trio of Chinese Landscape Paintings on Silk in Carved Bamboo-Effect Frames
A set of three Chinese landscape paintings executed in ink and wash with light colour tints on silk grounds. The largest panoramic scene features a thatched waterside pavilion built on stilts, a pagoda nestled among hills, a small footbridge, and a flock of birds in flight against a mountainous background. A second painting depicts a traditional Chinese junk sailing past a verdant green island. The third painting shows a rocky shoreline with a single gnarled pine tree. Each work is mounted with a pale patterned silk border and housed in a dark-stained wooden frame featuring carved bamboo-effect detailing. The largest painting includes a square red artist seal mark in the lower-left corner. Each frame is fitted with metal hanging loops at the top.
