Lot 813: Victorian Mahogany Two-Over-Three Chest of Drawers
A mid-Victorian mahogany chest of drawers, circa 1860-1880. The chest is designed in a two-over-three configuration, comprising two short drawers over three long, graduated drawers. The drawer fronts feature figured flame mahogany veneers and are adorned with turned mahogany knobs and inset brass-lined keyhole escutcheons. The drawers are of robust construction, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints and secondary softwood linings. The carcase is supported by a continuous plinth base.
