Lot 896: Mid-20th Century Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Chest of Drawers
A mid-20th century Jacobean Revival oak chest of drawers featuring a two over two configuration, comprising two short drawers over two full-width graduated drawers. The piece is constructed from oak with a dark stained finish. The top two drawer fronts are decorated with a relief-carved lunette or arcaded pattern, while the two lower drawers feature centrally carved diamond lozenges containing a stylised floral rosette motif. The drawers are fitted with turned oak knobs and the drawer boxes are joined with machine-cut dovetails. The interiors are currently lined with a vintage-style floral paper. The unit stands on simple block feet with a shaped apron to the front and sides. A small white rectangular adhesive label with the handwritten number 13 is present on the top left corner.
