A pair of hand-painted Egyptian papyrus paintings by the artist Khaled Fawzy. The first work features a vertical composition depicting a royal couple or deities standing beneath a hovering falcon, surrounded by columns of stylised hieroglyphs and cartouches. It is mounted against a black background and housed in a black frame with a gilt inner slip. The second work presents a horizontal register showing a procession of various Egyptian deities, including figures with the heads of a falcon and a jackal, approaching a seated figure on a throne. Both works are executed in a vibrant polychrome palette on traditional fibrous papyrus with deckled edges. Signed in Arabic script خالد فوزي (Khaled Fawzy) to the lower right of the horizontal scene. A lot label for HCP Auctions South West is affixed to the glazing of the first item.
