Lot 214: W. E. Jackson and Son Metal Storage Trunk
An industrial metal storage trunk manufactured by W. E. Jackson and Son of The Bag Stores, Hull. The trunk is constructed from sheet metal with a black painted exterior and a seafoam green interior finish. The design features a rectangular form with a hinged lid supported by internal strap hinges. The construction is utilitarian with visible rivets and folded seams, including reinforced base panels. The front of the body is equipped with two slots for a hasp-and-staple locking mechanism. A central rectangular paper manufacturer’s label is affixed to the interior of the lid, bearing the company name and location along with an illustration of a similar trunk.
