Lot 25: An Assortment of Antique Metalware and Domestic Tools in a Metal Storage Trunk including a Dated 1870 London Trivet
An assortment of antique and vintage metalware and domestic tools housed within a rectangular metal storage chest. The collection includes a cast-iron decorative iron or trivet featuring openwork detailing and a wooden handle; the top bar is marked LONDON and the lower section is dated 1870. The group also contains two solid cast-iron sad irons, an L-shaped cast-iron cobbler’s last, and two metal thumb-pump oil cans with long spouts. Additional items include a hearth spatula or small shovel, a three-pronged clawed stove tool, a small metal funnel, and a circular metal component with an attached chain. The storage trunk features a blue-painted exterior with side-mounted carrying handles and a twin-compartment metallic interior.
