Lot 382: A Collection of Vintage Police Pattern Helmets, a Dual-Lens Signalling Lantern, and a Royal Navy Tail Coat
An assortment of vintage equipment and uniform items including police-style helmets, a lantern, and a naval garment. The helmets are constructed of black cloth-covered cork in a six-panel pattern, similar to British police custodian or military headwear. Each is topped with a chrome-plated spike and circular base plate. The sides of the helmets feature white hand-painted characters, 品名号, which translate from Chinese or Japanese as Item Name Number, suggesting potential use as theatrical or film props. The lot includes a vintage mid-20th-century handheld signalling lantern with a metal body, wire bale handle, and dual lenses consisting of a clear forward lens and a red-tinted dome. Also included is a black fabric garment identified by the box label as a Royal Navy tail coat, constructed from a heavy black cloth. The items are presented in a green cardboard tray with handwritten identification.
