Lot 418: A Late Victorian Cast Iron and Green Glass Oil Lamp
A late 19th-century Victorian oil lamp of typical construction. The piece features a decorative pierced cast-iron base with a heavily patinated finish. Mounted above is a translucent green glass font or reservoir, characterised by a rounded and slightly fluted moulded form. The burner assembly is made of metal with a dark aged patina and includes a thumbwheel for wick adjustment featuring an embossed circular design. The lamp is topped with a clear glass chimney that flares slightly at the base. This item is in its original non-electrified state. A white adhesive label on the glass font is printed with Lot 418 and HCP Auctions South West.
Dimensions: approximately 30 cm to 45 cm in height including chimney.
