A set of W.H. Grindley earthenware tableware in the Wendy pattern, dating from the Art Deco period. The service is decorated with transfer-printed and hand-painted floral sprays in shades of orange, yellow, and cornflower blue, set against a cream ground with a subtle light-blue stylized basketweave or brickwork motif. The pieces feature scalloped rims with gilt edging, twin-loop handles, and lid finials modelled as stylized flowers. The set comprises two large circular vegetable or soup tureens with domed lids, two smaller circular sauce tureens with domed lids, one matching ceramic ladle, and eight dinner or luncheon plates. One of the smaller tureen lids includes a ladle aperture. A handwritten auction tag identifies the lot as Grindley Wendy pattern tableware from HCP Auctions South West, Lot 539.
