Lot 573: Large 19th Century French Hand Hammered Copper Saute Pan with Dovetailed Base and Wrought Iron Handle
A large antique copper saute or preserving pan, demonstrating 19th-century manual construction techniques. The circular, heavy-gauge copper body features a hand-hammered texture and a visible dovetailed or brazed seam joining the base to the sides, characteristic of period French metalware. It is fitted with a long, flat wrought iron handle secured with rivets and terminating in a hook for hanging. The interior retains traces of a tin lining that has darkened over time.
