Lot 597: A Collection of Antique and Vintage Ceramics and Glassware
An assortment of decorative objects comprising ceramics, glassware, and stone. The ceramic pieces include a large oval earthenware platter with a red floral transfer-printed border, a porcelain teacup and saucer decorated in an Imari style with cobalt blue and iron red panels and gilded highlights, and a teacup featuring a wide green interior band with polychrome floral sprays. Also present are a small bulbous vase with hand-painted floral decoration and a cream-coloured lobed cream jug. The glassware consists of a tall cut glass trumpet-form vase held in a dark patinated metal foliate-form base, a square-bodied cut glass bottle with a faceted stopper, a small flared cut glass vase, and a small clear glass decanter. The collection also includes a carved white marble or alabaster figurine of a reclining lion on an integral base and a separate small rectangular stone block.
