Lot 604: A Set of Four Greek Hand-Painted Santorini View Ceramic Plates by Spyros
A set of four circular glazed earthenware plates and chargers featuring hand-painted scenes of Santorini, Greece. The set comprises two larger chargers and two smaller plates. Each size includes one piece decorated with blue-toned concentric bands at the rim and another with mauve-toned bands. The central compositions are hand-painted in a watercolour style, illustrating traditional white-washed Cycladic architecture with stone steps and figures in stylised dress against village and coastal landscapes. Each plate is signed on the front in Greek script Spyros. The smaller mauve-bordered plate bears the inscription Santorini in Greek script.
