Lot 617: A Collection of Statement Costume Jewellery Necklaces
An assortment of contemporary and late 20th-century statement necklaces featuring various materials and designs. The collection includes a set of hand-painted Chinoiserie-style wooden beads with gold-tone floral and scroll motifs on a dark ground. Also featured is a large, irregular iridescent mother-of-pearl focal pendant suspended on a multi-strand cord and multiple strands of mottled green and turquoise-coloured art glass beads with a Peking glass appearance. Further pieces include a necklace of polished chrome-finish tubular metal beads on a black cord, faceted black resin beads of varying sizes, and a large circular matte black pendant. The assembly incorporates heavy-gauge textured silver-tone metal snake chain segments. Materials comprise base metal with chrome and silver-tone finishes, art glass, moulded resin, painted wood, natural shell, and textile cords. No discernible maker marks or signatures are visible on the components or clasps.
Individual beads range from approximately 5mm to 25mm in diameter.
Pendants range from approximately 40mm to 70mm in size.
