Lot 687: A Collection of UK Pre-Decimal and World Coins
A collection of multiple circulated coins, primarily British pre-decimal issues, comprising a group spread loose and a small rectangular metal tin containing further examples. The collection is dominated by silver-toned cupro-nickel denominations, specifically sixpences featuring the crowned floral emblems of the UK including the rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek. Visible dates include 1953 and 1956. Obverse portraits include the laureate head of Queen Elizabeth II and the uncrowned head of King George VI. Legible inscriptions include SIX PENCE, FID DEF, and 1956. The lot includes a brass-coloured coin featuring a central square perforation and four East Asian characters.
