Lot 690: Two Sculptural Objects Including a Ken Edwards Stoneware Vessel
A lot comprising two decorative items: a Ken Edwards studio pottery vessel and an abstract wood sculpture. The stoneware vessel is a slab-built, flattened form with a pinched spout and a small integral loop handle. It features a textured off-white surface decorated with a sgraffito and hand-painted design of a stylised heron or crane. The bird is depicted in dark brown and pale blue pigments amongst scrolling botanical motifs, characteristic of the Ken Edwards Tonala studio. The second item is an organic sculptural form created from a section of gnarled and weathered wood, possibly driftwood or root wood, displaying deep natural fissures and a silvery-brown patina. The wood component is mounted vertically on a square black plinth.
