Lot 712: Various. A Collection of Religious Works. Various Publishers, Late 19th to Mid-20th Century.
A collection of various religious volumes comprising several pocket-sized and larger format works. The group includes a duodecimo edition of The Book of Common Prayer published by Oxford, bound in black textured leather with gilt spine lettering. The Soldier’s Bible is a pocket-sized volume bound in brown textured cloth. The assortment also contains multiple illustrated editions of the Holy Bible, including a black leatherette-bound volume and another published by Collins in a blue binding, which is housed in its matching blue card slipcase. The English Hymnal with Tunes is a larger volume bound in green cloth. The spine of the Collins edition features gilt-stamped decorative crosses. Internal pages from one of the Bibles display the text of Deuteronomy, chapter 5, including the Ten Commandments, printed in a double-column layout on thin cream-toned paper.
