This assortment consists of various early plastic items from the Art Deco period, manufactured from materials including Bakelite, celluloid, and urea-formaldehyde. The collection includes a cream rectangular box featuring a raised skyscraper motif on the lid, a dark mahogany-coloured Bakelite box with five horizontal incised lines, and a black Bakelite advertising box for the British Engine Boiler and Electrical Insurance Co Ltd. The interior lid of the advertising box is embossed with a stationary engine graphic and text reading British Engine Boiler and Electrical Insurance Co Ltd. Further items include a black Bakelite desk organiser component with six circular apertures, a light blue lidded box, a small rectangular box with a mottled red marbled effect, and a small black box with a central green and gold Union Carbide label.
