Lot 801: A Victorian Pine Two over Two Chest of Drawers
A Victorian pine chest of drawers dating from the late 19th century. The chest is constructed entirely of solid pine, featuring a visible grain and natural knots throughout. The piece follows a two over two configuration, comprising two short drawers above two full-width drawers. The drawer fronts are fitted with decorative brass swing handles set against ornate, scrolled openwork backplates. The two upper drawers have simple circular keyholes, while the two lower drawers feature brass escutcheons. Internal construction consists of hand-cut dovetail joints joining the drawer fronts to the sides. The chest is supported by four turned bun feet. The item currently carries paper auction lot labels reading 801, 46718, and 802. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the piece.
