Lot 863: Victorian Ebonised Glazed Two Door Apothecary Cabinet Upper Section
A late Victorian ebonised wood cabinet, being the upper section of a larger Victorian haberdashery or apothecary cabinet. The piece features two doors, each set with three glazed panels divided by horizontal glazing bars. The glass is currently backed with a light-coloured patterned paper. The sides of the cabinet are decorated with turned and ring-moulded pilasters. The top surface is unfinished, showing utility timber which indicates the piece was originally intended to sit beneath a separate cornice or as part of a stacked unit. One white ceramic pull knob is fitted to the right door.
