Lot 937: A Nineteenth Century Rustic Vernacular Elm Stool
This rustic vernacular country stool is constructed with a thick circular seat made from a solid slab of elm, showing characteristic wild grain. The stool is supported by four splayed, ring-turned legs joined by H-frame stretchers, all secured to the seat via visible through-tenon joints. The piece exhibits a heavily weathered and aged surface with a dry patina. A paper auction label from HCP Auctions South West, Lot 937, is adhered to the seat.
