Lot 958: A Pair of Late 20th Century Rattan Conservatory Armchairs
A pair of conservatory armchairs constructed with bent rattan and cane frames finished with a light polish. The chairs feature structural double-layered armrests and side and back panels with a diagonal lattice-work weave. Each piece includes a removable three-section cushion forming an integrated seat and backrest. The upholstery is a neutral beige fabric decorated with a repeating geometric tribal-inspired pattern in burgundy, purple, and ochre tones. Construction involves bound joints and bentwood techniques typical of the period. No maker marks or manufacturer labels are visible on the exterior of the frames or the cushions. One chair bears a white rectangular adhesive label on the right arm reading 958 and an additional partially visible white tag taped adjacent to it.
