Lot 979: An Art Deco Waterfall Figured Walnut Bureau Cabinet
A mid-20th-century figured walnut bureau cabinet featuring a characteristic waterfall curved top edge in the Art Deco style. The piece is designed with a large fall-front writing surface to the upper section, decorated with a book-matched sunburst veneer pattern. The lower portion is divided vertically, comprising a bank of three drawers to the left and a single cupboard door to the right. The unit is fitted with circular pressed-brass hardware featuring embossed floral motifs and drop handles. The whole is supported on short, shaped bracket feet. A rectangular white paper label is affixed to the centre of the fall-front lid. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the exterior.
