Lot 982: Julie and J. J. Simmonds, Two Framed Oil Paintings
This lot consists of two original framed oil paintings. The first work is an oil on canvas depicting a harbour scene with moored boats and a coastal settlement, executed in a monochromatic palette of ochres and browns. It is signed Julie ’76 in the lower right corner and is housed in a dark wood frame with a gilded inner slip. The second work is an oil on board depicting a stone church building, rendered in a representational style with flat paint application. It is inscribed Sept. 1989. to the lower left and signed J. J. Simmonds to the lower right. It is presented in a silver-toned moulded frame.
