Lot 14: A Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y-12 Ford Model T Harrods Express Delivery Van with Original Box
An English-made die-cast metal model of a 1912 Ford Model T van finished in dark green with a cream-coloured plastic roof and gold-tone spoked wheels. The vehicle features printed gold livery on the sides reading HARRODS EXPRESS DELIVERY and MOTOR ACCESSORIES. The black metal base plate is cast with the following legible text: MADE IN ENGLAND, the MATCHBOX logo, MODELS OF YESTERYEAR, 1912 FORD MODEL T, a copyright symbol followed by 1978, and LESNEY PRODUCTS & CO LTD.
The model is accompanied by its original cardboard window display box in a matching green and cream colour scheme. The box is printed with the text models of yesteryear, Harrods, and the designation Y-12 1922 FORD T. A white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the front plastic window which reads HCP Auctions South West Lot 014.
