Lot 159: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1933 Cadillac Fire Engine
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1933 Cadillac fire engine, finished in a vibrant high-gloss red. The model features a die-cast metal body representing a Feuerwehr Aarau service vehicle, complete with the town’s name and a black and white heraldic crest printed on both sides. The vehicle is equipped with a chrome-effect front bumper, radiator grille, and headlights, and carries a removable tan plastic ladder on the roof rack. The underside of the red chassis bears a printed copyright mark reading © 1989 MATCHBOX INT’L LTD on the left and MATCHBOX MODELS OF YESTERYEAR on the right. A central chrome-finished component is embossed with the words MADE IN CHINA. The toy is presented in its original red and yellow cardboard window display box, which includes a white adhesive label reading HCP Auctions South West Lot 159 and a yellow price sticker from TOTALLY TOYS marked £6.95.
