Lot 223: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1912 Ford Model T Carnation Tanker
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1912 Ford Model T Carnation tanker, finished in a two-tone scheme of red and cream. The die-cast vehicle features a red chassis, fenders, and rear tank, paired with a cream-coloured cab and engine hood. Gold-tone plastic components form the radiator grille and headlights, while the cab is fitted with a textured cream-coloured plastic roof and a basic interior. The free-rolling wheels consist of red plastic hubs with black tyres and white-wall detailing. The tank sides are decorated with white script reading ‘Carnation FARM PRODUCTS’, and the cab roof overhang bears the ‘Carnation’ script logo. The cab sides are printed with the text ‘The name that stands for quality’ and ‘Carnation Farm Products Company’ accompanied by a small red rose floral motif. The red die-cast baseplate is embossed with the characters ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’, ‘MATCHBOX®’, ‘MODELS OF YESTERYEAR’, ‘1912 FORD MODEL T’, ‘© 1979’, and ‘LESNEY PRODUCTS & CO LTD’.
