Lot 69: A Vintage Matchbox Volvo Federal Express Container Truck
A vintage Matchbox Volvo Federal Express container truck, model number MB-23. This model features a white die-cast metal cab and chassis paired with a white corrugated plastic cargo container. The container is decorated with the vintage Federal Express logo in purple and orange on both lateral sides. The vehicle is fitted with an amber-tinted plastic windscreen and black plastic wheels on straight metal axles. The underside of the black plastic chassis is impressed with the MATCHBOX wordmark within a rectangular border, alongside the copyright date 1981, the scale 1:80, and the Volvo name. It is further marked as being made in China. The vehicle is accompanied by its original yellow card stock box, which features a red and yellow grid pattern and is printed with the text MATCHBOX …The Original Collectibles.
