Lot 1023: A Mid-Century White Painted Five-Drawer Chest of Drawers
A mid-century white painted five-drawer chest of drawers in a minimalist modernist style. Constructed from wood and plywood, the piece features an overall white painted finish that appears to have been applied over a previous surface. The design is characterised by five graduated drawers, each with an integrated, recessed finger-pull handle running vertically along the right-hand side of the drawer front. The secondary timber visible in the drawer sides appears to be a light-coloured solid wood or plywood, and the drawer bases are lined with a vintage floral-patterned contact paper. The chest stands on a simple plinth base integrated into the main carcass construction. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are discernible in the images provided.

Condition report:
The item is in used condition with several visible faults. The white painted finish shows multiple surface scuffs, marks, and areas of general wear across the drawer fronts and carcass (photo 1). A notable brownish stain is present on the front of the second drawer from the top (photo 1). There is minor chipping and wear to the edges of the drawer fronts and the vertical sections of the frame (photo 1 and 2). The interior contact paper lining is intact but shows some age-related discolouration.
