Lot 1032: A Collection of Vintage Popular Vocalist and Compilation Vinyl LP Records
A collection of vintage vinyl LP records, primarily featuring popular vocalists, opera, and pop compilations from the mid-to-late 20th century. The collection includes approximately six to ten 12-inch vinyl discs in standard card jackets, with some gatefold examples. Notable titles include Shirley Bassey 25th Anniversary Album: 40 Greatest Hits on United Artists Records, Joan Hammond Operatic Arias on the His Master’s Voice label, and Isobel Baillie Golden Voice Series II on the EMI label featuring works by Dvořák and Handel. Pop and easy listening titles include First Love: 20 Beautiful Love Songs on the Arcade label, Barry Manilow Even Now on Arista, and a Kay Starr compilation on EMI Starline. The records are predominantly United Kingdom pressings. A white rectangular adhesive label reading 1032 is applied to the front of the Joan Hammond sleeve, and a pink circular adhesive label reading 1.00 is present on the Barry Manilow sleeve.
Condition report:
The card jackets are in Good to Very Good condition. Visible ring wear and surface scuffing is present on the First Love (photo 2) and Shirley Bassey (photo 3) covers. Edge scuffing and corner creasing is evident on the Shirley Bassey gatefold sleeve (photo 3). The classical titles, including the Isobel Baillie release, show surface yellowing and foxing consistent with age (photo 1). The vinyl discs have not been removed from the sleeves for visual inspection or playback testing and are sold as seen.
