Lot 168: A Vintage Mid-Century Industrial Steel Storage Trunk
A vintage mid-century industrial steel storage trunk. The chest is constructed from heavy-gauge sheet steel featuring folded and riveted seams. The exterior is finished in a distressed black paint, while the interior is coated in a contrasting light mint green paint. It is equipped with heavy-duty, black-painted metal fold-down carry handles mounted to each side. To the front is a rectangular brass lock plate with a circular raised escutcheon, although no key is present. Faint scratches and indentations are visible on the top lid, but they do not form discernible characters. The brass lock plate is secured with small circular rivets and bears no visible lettering or manufacturer’s stamps.
