Lot 428: A Collection of Vintage London Records 7-Inch Rock 'n' Roll Vinyl Singles
A collection of vintage London Records 7-inch rock ‘n’ roll vinyl singles, featuring approximately 30 to 50 individual records dating from the late 1950s and 1960s. The assortment includes early rock ‘n’ roll and pop pressings, notably a UK issue by The Champs entitled El Rancho Rock / Midnighter (45-HL 8655). This record is identified by its characteristic triangular punch-out centre. The label is finished in black with a silver printed cursive logo reading LONDON, alongside text including MADE IN ENGLAND, RECORDED BY CHALLENGE HOLLYWOOD, and RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1958. A matrix number (MSCF. 2632) is clearly visible. The collection is stored in a large vintage paper bag, secured with blue plastic tape marked 3394, and includes an auction lot tag numbered 428. Some records retain their original red and white striped company paper sleeves.
