Lot 479: A Vintage Tangshan Chinese Porcelain Coffee Service
A vintage Tangshan Chinese porcelain coffee service, comprising a tall cylindrical lidded coffee pot, a lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, and multiple cups and saucers. The set is fashioned from white glazed porcelain decorated with a repeating geometric border pattern featuring octagonal medallions in ochre, dark brown, and black, all finished with gilt rims. The design is characteristic of mid-century modern styling, evidenced by the tall form of the pot and the starburst-motif finial on the sugar bowl lid. The underside of the pieces bears a printed circular blue backstamp featuring the characters 中国 at the top, the letters MADE IN CHINA at the base, and two central stylized characters reading 唐山.
