Lot 487: A Vintage Royal Doulton English Translucent China Part Dinner Service in the Westwood Pattern
A vintage Royal Doulton English translucent china part dinner service, decorated in the Westwood pattern (T.C. 1025). The service comprises a collection of tableware items including a circular lidded vegetable tureen, a sauce boat, and two stacks of plates consisting of dinner and side or salad plates. Each piece features a transfer-printed autumnal foliage design of maple-style leaves and small yellow and white wildflowers in shades of brown, ochre, and muted green against a cream ground. The tureen and sauce boat are accented with contrasting dark brown handles and a matching circular knob to the tureen lid. The base of the pieces bears a printed backstamp featuring a crowned lion atop a crown within a circular border containing the text ROYAL DOULTON, with MADE IN ENGLAND below. Further text reads ENGLISH TRANSLUCENT CHINA, WESTWOOD, T.C. 1025, COPYRIGHT, and DOULTON & CO. LIMITED.
