Lot 535: A Collection of Vintage Silver-plated and Bone China Afternoon Tea Service Items
A collection of vintage silver-plated and bone china afternoon tea service items, including a silver-plated folding cake stand and a partial bone china tea service. The folding cake stand features three tiers with pierced foliate decoration and a curved carry handle. The partial tea service is manufactured from bone china with a white ground decorated with transfer-printed white floral sprays and green foliage, finished with scalloped and gilded rims. The teacups bear a green printed backstamp to the underside, however the resolution prevents identifying the manufacturer. The set includes a pair of silver-plated scissor-action sugar tongs with scrolled handles, a cased set of teaspoons, and a pair of cased serving spoons with fluted shell-shaped bowls and tapered handles, with the latter items bearing the stamped mark E P N S to the reverse. A silver-plated cruet stand is provided, housing faceted glass salt and pepper shakers and a lidded mustard pot.
