Lot 598: Three Vintage Elephant and Gothic Themed Decorative Items
Three vintage elephant and gothic themed decorative items, including a soapstone-effect carving, an incense gift set, and a snow globe. The carving features five elephants in a walking procession, rendered in an off-white composite material with a textured finish, and is mounted upon a slender, curved wooden plinth. The incense gift set is housed in its original red cardboard tray and cellophane packaging, containing a white ceramic elephant-shaped burner with pink and green accents, incense sticks, cones, and a decorative multi-coloured fabric flower. The gothic snow globe comprises a glass sphere containing a dark figure and glitter, set upon a moulded black resin base. The base is decorated with bat-wing motifs, purple glitter, and red rhinestone gems. A white adhesive auction label is present on the incense set reading ‘HCP Auctions South West’, ‘Lot 598’, and ‘www.hcpauctions.net’. A moulded word is visible on the lower rim of the snow globe base but is not clearly legible.
Condition report:
The liquid within the snow globe shows yellowing and discolouration consistent with age (photo 2). The incense gift set is unopened and remains in its original plastic wrapping (photo 1). The elephant carving shows some minor surface dust and small natural variations in the soapstone-effect material (photo 3).
