Lot 634: A Vintage Tottenham Hotspur Paper and Textile Memorabilia Collection
A vintage Tottenham Hotspur paper and textile memorabilia collection, providing a retrospective of the club’s history across five decades. The lot features several official matchday programmes, including a 1967 issue for the match against Bristol City, printed with Vol. 59 No. 39 and a price of THREEPENCE. Further examples include a 1980 programme against Brighton and Hove Albion, priced at 30p, and a 2003 programme against Liverpool showing the Thomson main sponsor logo. The collection is accompanied by a navy blue textile sports bag printed with large white SPURS lettering and a circular graphic commemorating the team as CARLING CUP WINNERS 2008. This graphic includes a celebratory player image with the name KEANE visible on a jersey. A white adhesive lot tag from HCP Auctions South West is attached to the bag, reading Lot 634. Several programmes are housed in individual clear protective plastic sleeves.
Condition report:
A noticeable degree of age-related toning is visible to the 1967 Bristol City programme (photo 3). The 1980 and 2003 programmes are presented in protective plastic sleeves and show no major visible defects (photos 2, 4, 5). The commemorative sports bag displays light creasing from storage but the printed graphics remain clear and intact (photo 1).
