Lot 675: A Vintage Set of Five Cristal d'Arques Lead Crystal Champagne Flutes in the Longchamp Pattern
A vintage set of five lead crystal champagne flutes in the Longchamp pattern by Cristal d’Arques, France. Each glass is constructed from 24% lead crystal, featuring characteristic deep vertical facets that flare from the base of the bowl towards the rim. The flutes possess multi-sided, faceted stems and plain circular bases. The glassware is housed within its original red and white geometric patterned manufacturer’s box. The front of the box is clearly printed with the maker’s name ‘Cristal d’Arques’ and the origin ‘FRANCE’. Adhesive white auction labels are present, including one reading ‘Lot 675′ and another partially legible reading ’67’. No other maker’s marks or etchings are visible on the clear crystal bodies or bases. The set is incomplete, containing five flutes from an original set of six.
Condition report:
The glassware appears to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or scratches to the crystal (photo 1). The clarity of the lead crystal is good, with no evident clouding or sickness (photo 2). The original cardboard packaging is in poor condition, showing significant wear, scuffing, frayed edges, and peeling to the printed decorative surface (photo 1). The set is missing one glass from its original six-piece configuration.
