Lot 708: A Vintage Moroccan Pierced Nickel-Plated Metal Table Lamp
A vintage Moroccan pierced nickel-plated metal table lamp, featuring a tall teardrop-shaped body that tapers to a fine point above a tiered circular base. The entire metal surface is decorated with intricate hand-pierced openwork in scrolling foliate and floral patterns, designed to project geometric light patterns when illuminated. A slender wire frame arches over the central bulbous section, secured to the side of the stepped base. The lamp is fitted with a modern brown plastic flex and a white UK three-pin plug. A white adhesive auction label is fixed to the base reading HCP Auctions South West, Lot 708, and www.hcpauctions.net (Photo 1); no other legible maker marks or country-of-origin labels are present.

Condition report:
The metal body shows widespread surface dust and light oxidation, particularly within the recessed areas of the pierced decoration (Photo 2). Minor surface scratches and very slight indentations are visible to the metal mesh consistent with age and use (Photo 1). The tiered base exhibits light surface scuffing (Photo 1). The electrical wiring and plug appear intact but are used and untested for safety; professional inspection by a qualified electrician is recommended before use.
