Lot 871: A Vintage Woven Rattan and Wood Blanket Chest
A vintage woven rattan and wood blanket chest of rectangular form, constructed with a dense natural wicker weave over a supportive internal wooden frame. The chest features a flat hinged lid attached with two metal butt hinges, which opens to reveal a skeletal wooden interior structure with cross-bracing for added strength. The exterior finish shows a natural light-toned patina throughout the woven surfaces. A pink circular adhesive sticker on the top left corner of the lid is printed with the number 32. A white rectangular adhesive label affixed to the front lower edge reads Lot 871, and a further printed label located on the lid identifies the item as Lot 871 from H&H Auction Rooms West. The interior currently contains a multi-plug power strip and associated black and white electrical cabling.

Condition report:
The chest appears in good functional condition with the wicker weave remaining largely intact across the top and sides (photo 1). There are small instances of light fraying and minor surface wear at the corners and edges typical of vintage wicker furniture (photo 1). The metal hinges and internal wooden frame show no signs of structural failure or significant damage (photo 2).
