Lot 885: A Mid-Century Circular Wood and Chrome Occasional Table / Café Table
A Mid-Century circular wood and chrome occasional table / café table, featuring a circular top with a light-coloured wood veneer finish, possibly birch or maple. The top is finished with matching edge banding and is supported by a tripod base. The base is constructed from tubular chrome-plated metal, with three legs that curve outwards from a central mounting point beneath the tabletop. A white rectangular adhesive label is adhered to the tabletop, bearing the handwritten characters ‘5766’ in blue ink and printed characters ‘885’ in the lower right corner; these appear to be internal stock or inventory identifiers. No manufacturer’s marks or stamps are visible to the upper surface or base.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
Condition report:
The tabletop displays visible surface scratches, scuffs, and some ingrained marks (photo 1). There is minor chipping and wear to the perimeter of the edge banding (photo 1). The chrome-plated base shows light surface marks and signs of use consistent with age (photo 1).
