Lot 935: A Late Victorian Mahogany Swing-Frame Toilet Mirror
A late Victorian mahogany swing-frame toilet mirror on a box base. The large rectangular mirror plate is held within a moulded mahogany frame, suspended between two scrolled upright supports. These supports feature hand-carved circular patera rosettes at their base and are mounted onto a substantial pedestal box base. The base is constructed with a central recessed open shelf area flanked by two drawer units. Each pedestal contains two small drawers, each featuring a moulded border and two decorative brass-tone drop handles with textured pulls and ornate backplates. The base is finished with a shaped apron between the two pedestals. A white adhesive sticker on the centre of the mirror plate is marked with the handwritten digits 3058 and a white adhesive sticker on the top of the right-hand drawer unit is marked with the printed digits 935. No maker marks, signatures, or manufacturer labels are visible on the exterior surfaces.

Condition report:
The piece exhibits signs of age-appropriate wear including visible surface scuffs, minor scratches, and dust accumulation throughout, particularly within the carved details and around the drawer bases (Photo 1). The side of the right-hand drawer unit shows a lighter, faded or unfinished appearance where it meets the central shelf (Photo 2). The mirror plate appears to be in generally good condition with no significant foxing or silvering loss visible in the provided images. All hardware appears to be present and the drawers are intact.
