Lot 963: A Mid-Century Tudor Revival Carved Oak Side Cabinet / Chest of Drawers
A mid-century Tudor Revival carved oak side cabinet / chest of drawers. This compact unit features a single cupboard door to the left, inset with two panels decorated with stylised vertical carvings. To the right is a vertical bank of four graduated drawers, each fitted with two turned wooden pull knobs. The central stiles are further embellished with coordinating carved details. The cabinet is of oak-fronted construction, finished in a characteristic dark oak stain with a visible grain throughout. The cupboard door is fitted with a lock and an accompanying simple metal key is present. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible in the provided image.

Condition report:
The cabinet shows signs of age and regular use throughout. There is noticeable wear and finish loss to the raised edges of the carved panels and decorative stiles (photo 1). Light surface scratches and scuffs are visible across the front and sides (photo 1). The finish appears dull and would benefit from a light wax polish to restore the sheen. The hardware appears original and intact, and the cupboard door key is present.
