Lot 1042: Two Large Ornate Gilt and Cream Painted Wall Mirrors
Two large ornate gilt and cream painted wall mirrors. The cream mirror is of rectangular form with a moulded frame decorated in the Rococo fashion, featuring foliate and scrolling acanthus leaf cartouches at the corners and mid-sections, and a repeating inner beaded border. The second mirror features a rectangular moulded frame with a continuous gadrooned rope-twist pattern and a dark metallic gold gilt finish. A white adhesive label with handwritten characters 13 over £2 is applied to the upper section of the glass on the cream mirror. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are present on either piece.
