Lot 111: A Pair of Large Cast Stone Pedestal Garden Urns
A pair of large cast stone pedestal garden urns, each of substantial proportions and decorated in a neoclassical style. Each urn features deeply moulded high-relief decoration to the exterior consisting of bold scrolling acanthus leaves and foliate motifs. The vessels are finished with thick scalloped rims and are supported by integral circular pedestal bases embellished with complementary foliate borders. The material is cast stone with a characteristic surface texture displaying small air pockets and irregularities inherent to the casting process. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or stamps visible on the pieces.
