Lot 241: An Ornate Cast Stone Two-Piece Garden Bird Bath
An ornate cast stone two-piece garden bird bath, consisting of a shallow circular bowl resting upon a highly decorative pedestal. The bowl is designed with a distinctive scalloped ‘piecrust’ rim and features a textured, naturally weathered interior surface. The pedestal base is constructed as a waisted, fluted column with vertical scalloped ribbing, terminating in a flared, square-profile foot. The foot is ornamented with classical scroll and foliate motifs at each corner. The piece is finished in a light grey-to-buff cast stone with a characteristic porous surface texture consistent with outdoor weathering. A pink adhesive label is present to the interior of the bowl reading Vineyard bird bath Qb22 R-E1S in red ink, though no permanent maker’s marks, signatures, or cast-in stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces of the piece.
