Lot 247: A Pair of Cast Stone Leaf-moulded Garden Urns on Pedestals
A pair of cast stone leaf-moulded garden urns on pedestals, each featuring a deep bowl-shaped body with a wide gadrooned rim. The exterior of the bowls is decorated with a relief pattern of large, overlapping acanthus-style leaves. Each urn is mounted on an integral waisted pedestal with fluted decoration, terminating in a flared, scrolled base with a shaped foot. The pieces are cast from a light-coloured reconstituted stone with a textured surface, and the interiors are provided with a central drainage hole to the base. The surfaces exhibit heavy weathering and a mature patina, including lichen growth and surface pitting from outdoor exposure. No manufacturer marks or labels are visible on the pieces.
