A collection of Late 20th Century World War II souvenir paper newspaper facsimiles, comprising printed reproductions of historical front pages from notable British and American broadsheets between 1944 and 1945. The group features the Evening Standard for Tuesday, June 6, 1944, No. 37,357, priced at One Penny, reporting the D-Day landings. A Daily Mail front page for Tuesday, March 27, 1945, is marked Late War News and covers the death of David Lloyd George. Several editions titled The Press report on the Potsdam Conference and the execution of Pierre Laval, with weather reports reading Weather: Cool, rain and Weather: Fine, very warm. The Chicago Sun from July 1944, priced at two cents, is also included. The pages are printed on paper with a deliberate aged finish to replicate vintage newsprint and are individually housed in clear protective plastic sleeves. Printed mastheads are legible alongside period commercial advertisements for Bird’s Custard and Robbialac Paints.
